*** Democracies Online Newswire - http://www.e-democracy.org/do ***

I am considering a stop in Brussels on Tuesday, March 6 and morning
of Wednesday, March 7. I'd like to learn as much as I can about the
European Commission's Framework V effort and the projects addressing
"On-line support to democratic processes." See:
http://www.egroups.com/message/do-wire/399

I'd like to put together a general E-Democracy Trends presentation
during the day on Tuesday, March 6 that would be accessible and
central to Commission, European Parliament, and NGO staff in the
region. That evening I'd like to organize a "Democracies Online
Happy Hour" or social event like the successful "politics online"
social events in London and Stockholm and the similar NetPolitics
happy hour in Washington, DC.

If you have thoughts, suggestions, or want to help out, drop me an
e-mail <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>. Everyone interested in further details
should join my temporary Brussels/EU contact e-mail list:

If you are aware of other Belgian and EU-related "e-democracy"
stories of note, please drop me an e-mail as well. I am always on
the look out for very local uses of the Internet in real
politics/community that some how make a difference.

Cheers,

Steven Clift
