NOTE - RSVP for the event below directly to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I stopped by to visit Stephen Coleman at LSE last month and saw the
Hansard Society's little army of e-democracy programme
<http://www.hansardsociety.org.uk/eDemocracy.htm> researchers busy coding
and comparing campaign, media, and interactive web sites related to the
recent UK election. I look forward to hearing the results of their
research.

The visit reminded of some important reports I had planned to mention (or
in the first case, mention again) on DO-WIRE:

New Media and Social Inclusion
http://www.hansardsociety.org.uk/Social_Exclusion_Report.pdf
Lessons from an online consultation with the House of Lords with survivors
of domestic violence

Realising Democracy Online: A Civic Commons in Cyberspace:
http://www.citizensonline.org.uk/downloads.asp
This highly influential report commissioned by IPPR
<http://www.ippr.org.uk> and Citizens Online is written by Jay Blumler and
Stephen Coleman. It connects remarkably well with the vision and practice
of Minnesota E-Democracy - so it must be good. ;-)
