I was pecking into Google's new auto-news services
<http://news.google.com/> and I clicked on this Daily Telegraph story
<http://www.dailytelegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2002/10/01/wmid01.xml&sSheet=/news/2002/10/01/ixhome.html>
and soon the top half of my screen went progressively black with a
chicken bouncing around inside until it was stuck. Then a pop up
option allow me to click if I wanted to oppose Battery Hen cages
<http://www.rspca.org.uk/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=RSPCACampaigns/eggs/eggshomepage>.

It was one of the more clever online petition requests/advocacy ads I
have seen online to date.

What have you found particularly effective?

P.S. If you want some good eggs in the Twin Cities, try ordering from
the Whole Farm Coop <http://www.wholefarmcoop.com>. Through this
network you can order online and actually get Amish cheese delivered
... through pick up at area churches. Now that is the old and new
economy mixed together. The wild rice brats were the best. :-)
