Social scientists from several universities are studying the
development
of political campaign websites in the United States, and are
interested
in the opinions of political technology experts and webmasters.

We are running an online survey until the end of November, and are
particularly eager to hear about your opinions on the last campaign
season in the United States.

PLEASE TEACH US ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCES:
http://faculty.washington.edu/pnhoward/surveyd.html

ANONYMOUS & VOLUNTARY
The survey is anonymous, participation is voluntary, and it should
take
about 15 minutes to complete. The survey is designed to explore the
professional norms of an important new group of political website
producers and the changing role of the Web in campaign strategies.
The
survey does ask you to share your design experiences on specific
projects, but these questions are optional. Respondents may prefer to
complete the survey from home. If you have colleagues within your
organization who helped develop campaign technologies, or if you re a
volunteer campaign site producer and know volunteers involved with
other
campaign sites, please forward this invitation to them. If you
receive
more than one invitation for this survey, please access the survey
via
the link in the first invitation you receive. Results will not be
used
for commercial purposes.

CONTENTS
There are around 100 questions, but with drop-boxes and radio buttons
many questions are easy to answer. There are five sections:
Internet
Use; Political Campaigns Online; Political Norms; Demographics;
Open-ended Questions. Even if you receive several invitations,
please
only complete the survey once. We are grateful for your assistance
with
this research, and aggregated results will be made available for
those
of you who would like to see how political website producers as a
whole
responded to the questions. Please do not hesitate to contact us
with
questions about the survey.

GIFT CERTIFICATE PRIZE
For those who complete the survey and wish to be entered, we will
randomly select three respondents to win one of three gift
certificates
for $100 to Amazon.com. The survey system is separate from the
lottery
system and responses cannot be linked to email addresses.
