Dear Gene,
First of all, try to use the mailing list [email protected]
because there are more chances to get help if you post you questions there.
Then, you should post more details about the error, for example the system
that you are using, etc. A fuzzy error description will not be recognized by
people as something that might has happened to them too, and you may not
get any solutions. So, help us to help you.
About the error that you describe, I don't know how it might have happened,
but probably you should install mysql, or you should start its service, or
you should install php-mysql (mysql libraries of php).
Regards,
Dashamir

Dear dashohaxsha,
When i open /localhost/books/admin.php everything seems to go fine. Then I try
to upload a new xml file, and though it gives me a bunch of errors, that is not
the main problem. The problem is, I can't open any XML files (not even that
came with your DocBookWiki, such as "test", and "user guide", what's worse, is
that when i try to open /localhost/books/edit.php, I get the same error as when
i try to open those xml files as an admin, here is the error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_pconnect() in
/usr/share/docbookwiki/web_app/database/class.MySQLCnn.php on line 41
Here are lines 38-41 of class.MySQLCnn.php:
function MySQLCnn($host =DBHOST, $user =DBUSER,
$passw =DBPASS, $db_name =DBNAME)
{
$this->cnn = mysql_pconnect($host, $user, $passw);
Please help, I have no experience in PHP. I'm merely an Erlang/Verilog
programmer, but desperatly need to get this thing to work to have a group be
able to work on a book through a wiki form, in a docbook format (which we're
exproting from FrameMaker, by structure that is a subset of the DocBook it
self).
Huge thanks in advance, I welcome all tips you have, and if you have any idea
what's happening here.
Regards,
-Gene
