FYI, when we officially release the SME Server V5 with ServiceLink
software in the near future, the User Manual will be put up on the web
as we have done in the past at:

  http://www.e-smith.org/docs/manual/

It will be there in both online and print (PDF) format.

However, with V5 we will also be providing the manual
*on the CD*. At the top level of the CD there is a folder called
"Documentation" and inside of that is a folder called "SMEServer".

The PDF version is there as 'userguide.pdf', but perhaps more interesting
to you will be the Windows Help file called 'smeserver.chm'.  On a
Windows system, simply double-clicking this file will bring you into
a standard Windows Help screen with an expanding tree in the left pane
and the content in the right pane.

What I find most interesting about this is that there is a Search
tab which then gives you full-text search capability for the entire
user manual. If you have a question about something, you can go to
that tab and query the user manual.  

As you start working with V5, I would be very interested in any
feedback you all have about having the documentation on the CD and also
specifically about the usefulness of the Windows Help version.

P.S. We are including a Windows Help version because: a) Mitel does
this for their other products; and more importantly b) I discovered
that it was incredible trivial for me to generate a Microsoft HTML Help
version of the manual from my DocBook XML source file.  With the use of
a free utility from MS, it takes me literally only a minute or so to
generate the compiled help file (the CHM file) from my source.  If you
