Francis,
I think you are not mistaken, but referring to a different workflow.
The object of the separate chapters was to use them in a masterdocument to 
combine them to one great document in one go.

However, that feature got broken some time ago, and then we went with the 
(new/your) workflow, by removing the title and copyright from the separate 
chapters. Leaving us with the "headless" chapters we are now working with to 
form the BIG ONE.

I would very much like to get the old workflow (with the masterdocument) 
reinstated, but a don't see that happen in a short period of time.

Knowing that it seems reasonable to follow your workflow and leave the title 
and copyright pages out of the chapters. It should take litlle effort to put 
them back again, if needed.
