I also had many problems to compile jade utilities on SunOS 5.6 (Solaris 2.5). Finally, I succeded using gcc 2.8.1 and openjade 1.3. downloads: ftp://ftp.mirror.ac.uk/sites/download.sourceforge.net/pub/sourceforge/openjade/openjade-1.3.tar.gz (I had to use a mirror because I didn't succeded using http://openjade.sourceforge.net/download.html) gcc-2_8_1.tar.gz on http://www.sunfreeware.com libstdc++-2_8_1.tar.gz on http://www.sunfreeware.com I installed each package (gcc then libstdc++ then openjade) like this : ./configure --prefix=/my/installation/path make depend make all make install I'am not sure if I did'nt manualy edit the Makefile to change the prefix variable or not in some cases, so check it after the ./configure. Then, we downloaded an older compiler (gcc version egcs-2.90.27 980315 (egcs-1.0.2 release)) because the Jade homepage ( http://www.jclark.com/jade/) says that Jade has been successfully compiled using this compiler. With this compiler, no errors were given and jade apperently compile successfully. However, when we tested jade and nsgmls they gave a Segmentaion Fault (core dumped). We tried to compile static as well as dynamic and both produce the Segmentation Fault. Does anyone out there know how to get Jade to compile on a Sun Solaris system?
