Xalan (in my experience) is just slower than Saxon. However, if you download "Full Saxon" rather than "Instant Saxon", you will get a set of Java classes rather than a Windows .exe, which will run on either Linux or Windows.

Any tips to improve the performance? I am running it from a command/terminal window as: (D:)\usr\app\docbookx\scripts>java org.apache.xalan.xslt.Process -in ../instances /docbooktoc.xml -xsl ../dbxxsl146/html/chunk.xsl -param base.dir ../mysite/ Regards, Gerrit Kuilder ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gerrit Kuilder | Tel: +31 (0)20 620 2349 Portalyx b.v. | Fax: +31 (0)20 421 0064 Windroosplein 110 | Mobile: +31 (0)621 841 360 1018 ZW Amsterdam | E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] The Netherlands | Web: http://www.portalyx.com ---------------------------------------------------------------- To subscribe or unsubscribe from this elist use the subscription manager: <http://lists.oasis-open.org/ob/adm.pl> ---------------------------------------------------------------- To subscribe or unsubscribe from this elist use the subscription manager: <http://lists.oasis-open.org/ob/adm.pl>
