Actually, the DocBook Technical Committee approved
RFE 615473 on 19 November 2002 to extend 'float' in
the DTD. In 4.2, there is just a 'float = yes|no'
attribute on figure. We added a 'floatstyle' attribute to figure,
example, table, and equation, of type CDATA with the
documentation saying that it is expected to be a
keyword that a stylesheet could act upon.
Once that change is released in a new DTD version,
the stylesheets can be modified to work with it.
