When the tex backend bumps a formal object (figure, eqn, etc.) to the start of a new page, the object itself starts at the bottom of, say page 7, but the figure and its title actually appear at the top of page 8. The result is that hyperlinks to those objects work fine in both html and pdf. But the page number listed as page 7 in the TOC. The mandrake customization gets around this by linking LOT entries to the object titles rather than to the objects themselves. I solved my page reference problem in the same way.
