Ah, I just discovered the "span" attribute. So, I can make my entire page three-columns, and then use span="all" on the FO objects that I want to span across these columns.

Hello, Simple question that may not have a simple answer: I understand how to set up custom page masters for FO output with different numbers of columns, but what if I want to change the column layout mid-page?
