I'm new to DocBook and I have a problem with the layout of the headers
and footers.
I'm using DocBook 5.0 with the 1.74 Stylesheets and RenderX XEP to
convert my XML-Files to PDF.
I try to set individual headers and footer for the "even" and the "odd"
pages but it does not work. The following template works fine but it
only produces pages one layout (for recto pages):

I've desperately tried to split this into "even" and "odd" pages. This

I only get output in some of the "odd" pages, and in none of the "even"
pages. The same with the header. Any ideas?
