Karen, Here is a description of setting up xslt from Bob Stayton's DocBook XSL: The Complete Guide. I have only used the Linux description, but I think the windows version works well, too. http://www.sagehill.net/docbookxsl/InstallingAProcessor.html If you plan to do much with DocBook XSL, his book is a must have. It will help you with your "hackfest." You can start with the online version, but the print is worth having. http://www.sagehill.net/book-description.html Hope that helps, Dick Hamilton
Managing Writers: A Real World Guide to Managing Technical Documentation http://xmlpress.net/managingwriters.html -----Original Message----- From: Karen Schneider [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, February 19, 2009 3:04 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [docbook-apps] Question about XSLT processors I'm following instructions for Windows on this page: http://evergreen-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=documentation:setting_up_d ocbook_transforms I've made it through all the steps, but I have to tell you these instructions feel like they have a high kludge factor to them -- lots of typing, command-line stuff, etc. -- and as a newbie I wondered if there were better tools. (By the way, I have committed to holding two "hackfest" sessions on Docbook at our upcoming Evergreen conference, so I have about 90 days to actually learn enough to stay ahead of a group of folks ;) ... no pressure there, eh) -- -- | Karen G.
