you might want to consider the clisp implementation notes.
it is a huge document (wc reports 28,960 lines,  119,907 words,
1,567,127 bytes total).
[btw, I wonder if it is actually the largest docbook document presently in use].
at the very least it will provide performance benchmarks.

Does size matter in testing? Because it's big, does that make a better test candidate?

I'm curious what logic went into 'designing' the test suite?
