I'm not sure if this is what you're asking for, but take a look at:

You can specify the paths to the images; you can set these to whatever
you want (absolute/relative/full URIs, ...)
Which works fine... so long as the reader, And Bobs site,
are on line?
I was thinking about sourceforge images, I'm sure they are there
too. I'd rather have them 'locally' (on my site) so if the text
is there, so are the graphics.
