not with RefDb-lite.
Did you have a look at refdb-mode? This is sort of a front-end and
then some for RefDB. There isn't exactly auto-completion, but it
offers you a wide range of search capabilities (mostly with tab
completion) from within Emacs. Also, you can turn matched datasets
into citations and yank them into your document conveniently. It
depends on your preferences whether or not these conveniences outweigh
the hassles of running RefDB.
