Maybe for the DocBook stylesheets there is no sense to use compilation with 
Xalan??

For rather big xml (about 1M) the advantage is 3% (25 and 26 seconds) and for 
the small xml (10KB) it was same time (4 seconds) to transform xml to the fo.
