Apparently xsltproc does not work on my 64 bit Windows system. Whenever I try, the command line window just crashes. I was unable to determine whether libxml/libxslt are just incompatible with 64 bit or whether there was a conflict with another library. But your idea about using a local path on the customization layer was a good one (and relatively easy to do with db2epub.py). I just had to figure out how many ../.../ 's to use.
