Ok, I removed the -ns stylesheet and used the "regular ones." And guess what, epubcheck validates ok.
Call me a dolt, but I'm unclear about the difference between the 2 stylesheets and when to use each of them. (I vaguely recall Bob S. saying in an email to use the -ns version as a general rule. Maybe I misremembered....) What would be the most common reason that you'd want to use one and not the other?
