Hi Sanjaya, It's nice to see that you are interested in DocBook. As a start to DocBook, you may refer the following two great books "DocBook: The Definitive Guide" and "DocBook XSL: The Complete Guide" [1] [2]. The first book covers the DocBook schema and is a good reference book. The second book covers almost all the things you need to know about DocBook XSL styling. I think you will need these two books a lot for this project! :)
Further, I hope you went through this year's GSoC ideas list and the last year's ideas list? [3] [4] Some of the last year's ideas were already implemented (4 successful project IIRC!), and I'm not sure whether those ideas will be eligible for this year. Probably they will!
