Hi Benno,
I don't think it is possible to validate a target database. See this previous
mail for the reasons:

http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/docbook-apps/200611/msg00135.html

A missing .db file is actually a well-formed error. Oxygen's Check
Welformedness option will report such errors, as will xmllint without
--validate.

Subject: [docbook-apps] validation errors in targets.xml

  Hello,
I alway get hundreds of validation errors, when i validate big target
database documents against the targetdatabase.dtd because in the pulled in *.db
files many undeclared elements, attributes and entities are found.
This has no effect on the successful outcome of the document/olink
generation, but it makes it difficult to find an real error, for example a
missing *.db file or something.
I use oXygen 11.2 for validation, but I had the same problem with xmlmind.

Is there a solution for this problem or do I have to extend the dtd myself?

  Thanks,
  Benno
