-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi Mike, By default the content in the <abstract> is rendered before the chapter toc. Perhaps you should put your intro text in the abstract. Then you're retain the option of putting other text in the chapter that appears after the toc.
Note that a title "Abstract" appears before the content of <abstract>, but I think it would be a lighter customization to remove that tile than to move the contents of the chapter above the toc.
