sorry for the long delay in my answer, but I took me forever to find out
how to set an attribute of attribute-set.

Thanks a lot works perfectly.

For reference for others, here is the customization which I used to reduced
the font-size of programmlistings in my PDF output:


<xsl:attribute-set name="monospace.verbatim.properties">
<xsl:attribute name="font-size">
    <xsl:value-of select="$body.font.master * 0.8" />
     <xsl:text>pt</xsl:text>
  </xsl:attribute>
</xsl:attribute-set>
