Hi Bill, I don't know of a list of contraints, but I agree that excluding admonitions from tables is an unnecessary constraint. Could you please file an item on the DocBook RFEs tracker on SourceForge so the DocBook Technical Committee can discuss this in their next meeting? Thanks.
