Philip, The extension you're using is meant for the 6.5 line of Saxon Products which are XSLT 1.0 compliant.
I'd be very surprised if it worked with 9 which is primarily an XSLT 2.0 processory. To the list, Have the extensions been ported to Saxon 8/9?
