DOCBOOK: layout of mediaobjects (images)

hi there,

is there a way to specify a layout for images in a docbook document ?
Specifically, it appears that mediaobjects are always placed one above
the other. Is there a way to somehow visually group them, such that
having a hbox with images (for example) ?
