DOCBOOK: howto generate PDF index

Hi, folks.
I've read the "LDP Author Guide", and succeeded in generating an index section
in HTML automatically with the collateindex.pl utility. However, the guide
didn't give much information about generating index for PDF. 
Can you guys give me some hints about it, or point me to some relevant URL?
