DOCBOOK: Referencing examples and figures

  Hi there.

  How do I best go about referencing <figure>s and <example>s, so that
  I only get their number in the rendered output, when using the DocBook
  XSL stylesheets?

  Example:

    <para>
      Example <reference/> shows ...
    </para>

    <example>
      ...
    </example>

  Output:

    Example 4.2 shows ...
