Why the content of the <acronym> elements are not rendered
when generating a glossary document?

For instance, I wrote something like this:

<glossdiv id="A">
  <title>A</title>

  <glossentry id="myterm">
    <glossterm>My Term</glossterm>
    <acronym>My Acronym</acronym> <!-- This is not rendered -->
    <glosdef>bla bla ...</glosdef>
  </glossentry>
</glossdiv>
