G'day all:

I'm new to docbook but am rapidly becoming a convert. I work for a tertiary
education institution where we are trialling various OSS XML/XSLT and general
data crunching and transforming technologies.

We like the idea of using simplified DocBook to markup many institute documents
because there are so many tools etc available that 'plug-in' to DocBook.

Anyway, we need to specify image width and height somehow using simplified
DocBook tag attributes. As far as I can tell, only "width" is available as an
<imagedata> attribute. I know we could just go and add our own custom
extensions to DocBook, but is there any way around this without breaking
compatibility with simplified DocBook?

We are working on an XSLT transformation of XML(DocBook) into PageMaker format,
to keep our print people happy. It is going reasonably well. Does anyone on
this list have any knowledge/experience with XML->PageMaker transformations
that might help us cut a few corners?
