The DocBook TC made sure that the DocBook schema has equivalents of the Dublin Core Metadata Element Set version 1.0, starting with DocBook 4.2. It was documented in the 4.2 spec document, but for some reason was dropped from later DocBook specifications. See:

http://www.docbook.org/specs/cs-docbook-docbook-4.2.html

Something like that section should be added back into the 5.0 spec.

Subject: [docbook] Current best practices for including Dublin Core metadata in DocBook?...

Hi,

I need to include some Dublin Core metadata elements into a set
of DocBook V5.0 documents.

Is there a current best practice way of going about this? I can
see there may be an equivalent DocBook element for all the common
DC concepts. I can slso see it may be possible to include
dc:foo elements directly into the DocBook in the dc: namespace.

Any advice much appreciated.

Thanks,

Stu
