Hmm, the chunk.first.sections parameter works for me with DocBook5 documents
and the htmlhelp stylesheet from version 1.73.2 of the stylesheets. I think
some more details are needed. Perhaps you could include a very short sample
chapter and a description of what happens to it when you set or don't set
the parameter.
Also, if you are using a customization layer, you might try testing with the
stock stylesheet. That might indicate if you customization layer is doing
something.
