Hi guys. 


Any progress on this?
I just had a look at XML for one of my clients and it has 800 images, half the 
size of the XML file is just wrappers upon wrappers.

  Indeed. Of course right now there are two competing proposals for this
  feature:

  http://picture.responsiveimages.org/

  http://www.w3.org/html/wg/drafts/srcset/w3c-srcset/

  So rather then copying syntax from HTML5 we should invent our own syntax
  capturing data needed for this feature and then transform it to
  whichever syntax becomes mainstream for HTML5.
