DocBook Technical Committee Meeting Minutes: 27 May 2015

The DocBook Technical Committee met on Wednesday, 27 May 2015
at 1:00pm ET.
1. Roll call
Present: Dick Hamilton, Scott Hudson, Larry Rowland,
Bob Stayton, Norm Walsh
Regrets: Jirka Kosek
2. Accepted the minutes [1] of the previous (March) meeting.
3. Next meeting: 17 June 2015
This was changed to 24 June 2015.
4. Review of the agenda.
No new items.
5. Review of open action items
a. Norm to convince someone to implement the new XInclude
standard.

b. Bob to integrate publishers XSL into DocBook XSL.

c. Bob to work with Norm to request Oxygen to implement
XInclude 1.1.

6. Publisher's and eLearning subcommittee reports
No subcommittee meetings.
7. XInclude 1.1 status.
Norm reported that the W3C will be publishing a new CR draft
soon, with changes regarding attribute copying.
8. DocBook 5.1 release
Norm reported he has resolved all the open issues except for
four. He will address the final four, which don't require TC
input. Norm proposed that when he has fixed them all, he will
resubmit to OASIS. Seconded and approved.
8a. DocBook marketing
Scott suggested we start thinking about a marketing plan for
getting the word out about DocBook 5.1, assuring the world that
DocBook is alive and well.
ACTION: Bob will ask Chet at OASIS about getting an OASIS press
release.
Other TC members will look into newsletters, social media, and
other avenues of getting the word out.
