Nope, my LCD doesn't show it. I didn't know there was a bg color. How about using some neutral darkish green color? I think it can be healthy for the eyes, not sure if it fits though.

yes, but we all agree on white basefont-color, right? so it mustn't be too dark either i guess
what do you mean by the basefont-colour? the bg colour of the content boxes?
