what about sans-serif? I'm not sure if linux has these.

sans-serif is a generic font family and is available on all platforms. See http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-CSS2/fonts.html#generic-font-families
It might not choose the best one for the task, but it'll choose something along the lines of Arial, verdana, helvetica, etc.

sans-serif looks fine on linux. but the doc from above suggests to use these as the last resort :)

I agree with Allan on the fact that the one we had before looked a little better though. But for me it's not su much of a burden.

As I mentioned before if Allan's choice is the best of the worst, we will go back to that one. I'm just waiting for some more input and other suggestions if any.
