Thanks Sue. It's very convenient that there's already an external MediaWiki instance.
MediaWiki is not perfect [from a backend perspective] for managing multilingual glossaries/content - but it is a great tool for communities. btw - there's a very interesting next generation MediaWiki prototype at http://wiktionaryz.org It's still at least a few months away from prime-time, but it is will address some of the current shortcomings in MediaWiki. ~mm Susan Weber wrote: > Michael, > > You've come a long way since the early discussions we had with Young. > This will be a great win for both docs and G11N. > > -Sue > > Michael Monaghan wrote: > >> Hi Ben, >> >> A few of us in the docs & internationalization/localization >> communities want to use the MediaWiki software [that runs >> http://www.genunix.org/wiki/] to open up the translation of Sun's >> Global Glossary [GG]. >> >> Right now the GG consists of approx 1400 quality terms and >> definitions, and is available at http://docs.sun.com/doc/805-4368. >> >> We have received significant feedback from users requesting translated >> glossaries.
