* Recap 2009.06 docs status
o Docs completed, on schedule, and staged on wiki for release.
o Revised feature docs (AI, DC, BE, IPS) updated. Major update to AI doc.
o Revamped GSG based on audience assessment and single sourced chapter 1 (Live
CD), HTML deliverable, and hard copy minibook. (Minibook in production now for
CommunityOne.)
 o Outstanding doc deliveries
+ Release notes - closing down this week.
+ OpenSolaris info center doc - new doc to highlight access to:
   - new OpenSolaris collections on docs.sun.com (old SX doc set).
   - opensolaris.com info
   - 2009.06 wiki
   - feature docs on download center (dlc)
o New focus on audience. Scoped task requirements of server admins and
application developers to develop role-based approach.
o Wrote ~20 new tasks for those audiences.

* Feedback
o what to continue / what worked well...
+ Young wanted to thank writers on problems with .book files in G11n handoff.
+ Barbara liked that docs can now be published both to a dev and a staging
locations on dlc.
+ Diane commented on the range of involvement/participation from Marketing,
campus ambassadors, ISV engineering, evangelists, and open community.
o what are challenges...what to improve?
+ One theme that came through was need for better understanding of how / when
/ if to use internal tools for the OpenSolaris feature docs. A few specific
comments:
   - Young/G11n looking for certain degree of sanity checking (links, integrity
of files referenced by .book) from internal tools.
     - Need for better overall understanding of where existing internal
tools/processes fit or don't fit in OpenSolaris publication and handoff.
     - Need clarification on role of Mercurial as doc repository.
     - Need clarification on role of internal part numbers and shortnames.
+ Kelly mentioned desire to have doc procedures better validated /
qualified. Diane & Alan signed up to build this into the process.
+ Alan mentioned growing pains of wiki contribution model. Had various
levels of contributions, but participants were not necessarily satisfied with
the experience when all said and done. Need to understand why and address going
forward. Barbara said need continued emphasis and clarification on how to
encourage community contributions. Alan noted we had specific contributions
from James Cornell to address specific gaps (e.g., running OpenSolaris in
VMware).
+ Barbara & Kathy suggested considering transitioning man page dev to man
page team (so man pages handled more consistently with other ON man pages.)
+ Kathy asked for clearer direction/road map on where information should be
documented. Alan said part of future planning.

* General - CommunityOne: Alan going to be at CommunityOne and hopes to touch
base with members of doc community while there.
