I'm looking through the various new docs for IPS and friends for the new release and ran across this FAQ: http://opensolaris.org/os/community/documentation/newbie_faq/
A bulk of that FAQ came from my blog... I'm happy that its used, but authors must be attributed properly for reasons including: 1) Even opensolaris.org looks very "Sun-ish", attributing authors shows community involvement. 2) Readers may wish to find additional content by a given author (example: only a portion of my "Solaris-RHEL Translation Guide" was put into the FAQ) 3) Conflicts may arise with content licenses, namely Creative Commons licensed works, such as mine. 4) Accountability is a good thing, for better or worse. Attribution is just good in general and fundamental to free software. I hope at some point even Sun staff authors are fully attributed. benr.
