* Kathleen to set up meeting to discuss SXCE docs. Closing this
action item. It is now being addressed in context of a larger
discussion that Diane is facilitating around doc planning and
support for OpenSolaris

authoring/source environments, distribution mechanisms, release
requirements on docs, et al. Working group includes key doc
managers, doc architecture team, and open invite to Dan Roberts,

* Initial schedule targets from Wenling
o 12/12 - Content of VDI for next BTSK locked down.
o 12/22 - new VDI available for docs
o 1/9 - Delivery to RE
o 1/19 - Go/No Go
* Diane asked if we should expect to support a BTSK around each
OpenSolaris

Wenling/Kelly said that was their expectation.
* Deliverables
o Alan shared TOC (distributed in compressed file) with
content for BTSK.
o Noted couple of additions to WebStack list, an update to a
NetBeans doc.
o Question why no IPS guide. Alan will add. Jyohti will make
some minor editorial changes (will not affect translations).
o Dolores noted the IPS screencast is not being translated
because of budget constraints. Jyothi strongly recommended
not including the old [translated] screencast, as it would
be too out of date.
o Question why the Device Driver Tutorial was on the list, as
this kind of coding is done by few experts. David said fact
that it was "tutorial" in nature was probably the original
rationale.
o Alan noted that he's added a link to the OpenSolaris
<http://infoshare.sfbay/twiki/bin/view/Main/OpenSolaris>
registration page on the Doc TOC.
* Asset tagging...Alan to investigate.
*What's next*
* Mini book to support tech days.
o Alan noted the original mini book for 2008.05 was
essentially the Getting Started Guide re-packaged in small
format to be handed out at tech days.
o In 2008.11, the content of the Getting Started Guide was
pulled apart into multiple documents (e.g., IPS guide, Boot
Environment guide). To support the mini book, Barbara is
re-assembling that content back into a single document.
o There was desire to include more material (from sys admin
guide and OS developer guide), but these docs are in wiki
format and no easy process to include.
o Alan said he'd be working with Teresa early in 2009.04
schedule to get better understanding up front about what
needs to be in the next mini book.
* 2008.11 postmortem
o Kathleen to send out postmortem request soon.
o Alan said to consider communication, processes, planning, et
al. so we can hopefully continue to refine.
* Sparc POC
o SPARC POC effort underway.
o Minimal doc impact. Barbara is acting as facilitator.
* 2008.11 - Kelly noted release / recognition events scheduled for
various sites.
* 2009.04 planning
o Planning to start soon.
o Code freeze is schedule for early February.
