Every community seems to have information that they want to centralize and make easily accessible and editable. What, I wondered, could the Docs Community do to provide a solution?
...And so Community SketchPad's were born! On the Genunix Wiki (which, fyi, is a project hosted on Genunix but under the control of the OS-Docs Community) please see the middle of the front page: "Working Together: Communities & Projects" (http://www.genunix.org/wiki/) Here you'll find a link off to the SketchPad area: http://www.genunix.org/wiki/index.php/SketchPad SketchPad's will provide a useful place for staging documents, putting up todo lists that are much more manageable and accessible than putting them on the OpenSolaris Community pages and just generally providing a place to put things. Currently the Wiki is handy, but finding an appropriate place to stash your stuff, and furthermore making sure others can find that stuff, is a barrier. I hope that this new concept will destroy that barrier. I want you guys to check it out, let me know what you think, and when we in the Docs community are happy we'll announce it to the rest of the OpenSolaris community on OS-Discuss. Keep writing! benr.
