However, I can empathize with the contrarian view that would say that it is precisely because there is so much diversity that there should be tighter controls errr... standards. One wag said 'the reason why he likes standards is because there are so many of them'. I supposed this differing points-of-view can be argued endlessly. If this was a commercial venture I'd just conveniently say, hey what ever works and contributes to the bottom line.
