As a fer-instance, Systems Administrators often use both types of guides, but aren't really classified as "programmers" or (run-of-the-mill, everyday) users. I second that idea. It emphasizes the tasks described not the audiences addressed. For consistency I would prefer "Usage Guide" instead of "Application Guide", however. Frank
