Yes, tools are exactly the reason why a DTD was used for validation for this initial release of the Sun books as DocBook5. The free XML editing tools available (NetBeans, jEdit) do not validate against RelaxNG - they only work with schemas and DTDs. There are some free RelaxNG validating tools available though so their use will be explored soon, and when the details are worked out the DTD declaration may be removed from the top of future versions of these docs. - Mark This message posted from opensolaris.org
