I would like to offer my services to document the procedure to develop
a network driver using GLDv3, which is one of the topics on the docs
wish list
(http://hub.opensolaris.org/bin/view/Community+Group+documentation/Wish+List).

Here is some basic information about the document I propose to write:

I would like to offer my services to document the procedure to develop
a network driver using GLDv3, which is one of the topics on the docs
wish list
(http://hub.opensolaris.org/bin/view/Community+Group+documentation/Wish+List).

Working Title:
How to write network drivers using Generice LAN Driver v3 (GLDv3)

Target Audience:
Mostly people who want to write new device drivers or those who want
to port it from GLDv2 to v3 (the procedures will roughly be the same
for both the users)

Topic Overview:
- Use the guide here [1] as an intro. (this will give a little
background on the topic)
- Why GLDv3
- Where to get the sources from
- How Project Starfish fits it
- Describe crucial parts of the source like important functions and so on
- Step-by-Step procedures for both porters and device drivers writing.
- Other notes/cautions and examples

I would appreciate any comments or inputs on this before I start
developing the documentation. Thanks for your help!

only want to use it. That is a tribute to how good Linux is.
