Why would someone download the Servlet Service Framework as a zip file? 
Wouldn't they be more likely to add a dependency to their pom and let Maven get 
the latest version?

I think it should be pointed out that you only need to download the zipped 
version if you intend to use it in another non-cocoon related project and the 
normal way to make use of it is by creating a Maven dependency in a pom file.

If this isn't done then new users may get confused about the best way to use 
it; especially since they have been told SSF is the 'right' way to write Cocoon 
apps.
