I'm not sure that this particular tutorial is still needed. We now have a doc on logging, which I based in part on your tutorial. Of course, improvements to that doc are always welcome.
Yah, I stopped cold when I saw the 'official' one, and haven't returned to see what's worth recycling as an adjunct to Joshua's article. Will try to do this soon.
