I am not sure if this is the right list for it, but about a year ago I 
started using Apache together with iptables/ipchains/routing to create 
spider traps. (without using any perl or php..just bash and cmd.exe 
for win)

Would you be interested in documentation for apache.org that would 
explain a simple method to stop people from spidering a site 
(regarless of user-agent or browser type) ?

I am not good at creating documentation, though maybe someone here 
would be interested in the method and create a nifty doc for it.
