There's *got* to be a way to explain what these directives do that
won't leave almost everybody confused. I get confused every time I
read these, and have to re-read them several times to figure out if
they are correct.

for example. I fixed trunk and 2.2 a while back but somehow missed
2.0.
Ok, I stand corrected. I thought that this was a difference between
the way that I think about it and the way that it actually happens
internally. So apparently I was even more confused than I thought I
was. ;-)
